Katez Kardz is a Plattsburgh based card making business started by 12 year old Katharine Schaefer. Kate wants to help her community learn more about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) because, as she says, “no one is going to have a bake sale for FASD and they need money to change things”. Kate started making cards to help raise funds for FASD awareness and a portion of each card goes to the Child Care Coordinating Council of the North Country’s Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) fund. This fund was established to support trainings to build awareness around FASD and to assist North Country families to travel to Rochester for a FASD evaluation.
